Dental Bonding —
An alternative to Veneers
Dental bonding is an additional cosmetic treatment that can work as an alternative to veneers. They provide a visible, effective restoration for teeth that have been chipped, cracked, discolored, or disarranged.
Dental bonding procedure works by preparing the tooth surface. The surface will be lightly etched and coated with a bonding liquid. Once the liquid sets, a resin is applied and adjusted to the desired shape by the dentist. After it has been set, the resin is trimmed, adjusted, smoothed, and polished to create a natural appearance.
The Bonding Procedure
Most bonding treatments are completed in a single office visit. It results in a significant improvement to the appearance of a tooth. The plastic resin may not be as strong as natural tooth enamel, which can cause a greater chance of staining, chips, or breakage. It is important to schedule regular dental visits to determine when they are in need of repair.
